Floral Study

with Sarah Ryhanen

Floral Study2.jpg

This study offers students the unique opportunity to dive into the floral arts for the first time, or hone their existing practice.

The process of making a flower arrangement begins in the field where participants are encouraged to consider the myriad of color and texture combinations before they cut their materials. After flowers are harvested, each student will select a vase, urn or bowl and appropriate flower frog (kenzan) to work with from the Saipua archive.

The afternoon is spent in the studio as each student thoughtfully interprets the season.
